Frequently Asked Questions
What is PMP® Certification and why is it important for project managers?
PMP® (Project Management Professional) Certification is a globally recognized credential offered by PMI. It validates your ability to lead projects effectively using proven methodologies, tools, and best practices. For many professionals, it’s a career-accelerating certification that opens doors to senior project roles globally.
What are the requirements for PMP® Certification?
To become eligible for the PMP® Certification, you must meet specific education and experience criteria set by PMI. You can qualify through either of two pathways. The first requires a four-year degree along with 36 months of project management experience and 35 hours of formal project management training. The second pathway requires a high school diploma or secondary degree, 60 months of project management experience, and the same 35 hours of professional training. Our PMP® training program at VAK Learners fully covers the mandatory 35 contact hours while helping you align your work experience with PMI’s expectations.
How much does the PMP® Certification cost in Canada?
The total cost of earning your PMP® Certification in Canada includes both the PMI exam fee and the training program you choose. PMI charges USD $405 for members and USD $575 for non-members to take the exam. In addition to this, candidates typically invest in a professional training program to meet the 35-hour education requirement and prepare effectively for the exam. At VAK Learners, our training is designed to provide clarity, real-world understanding, and complete exam readiness, ensuring you get maximum value from your investment.
How hard is the PMP® Certification exam?
The PMP® exam is challenging because it tests real-world application, not just theory. With the right guidance, simplified frameworks, and practice questions, most professionals succeed on their first attempt. Our training helps you understand concepts clearly so exam questions feel logical, not overwhelming.
How long does a PMP® Certification last, and do I need to renew it?
A PMP® Certification is valid for 3 years. To maintain it, you need to earn 60 PDUs (Professional Development Units) within the 3-year cycle. We guide our learners on earning PDUs easily through practical learning and continuous development.
